Help Support Indie Genre Films With The Creation Of ‘The Dead in Decatur International Film Festival’

Horror has gone mainstream and that means the indie film genre needs more help then ever to find an audience and break through the noise. A group of friends and lovers of indie genre want to create a indie film fest where one does not exist.

Dead In Decatur

Dead in Decatur media is spreading the word about a new film festival taking place in Mt. Zion, IL. On October 13th -14th. They will be presenting a range of feature and short films projects from all across the globe, including Theseus and the Minotaur by Joshua Kennedy, Manos: The rise of Torgo, Deep Sea Monster Raiga vs. the Lava Beast, and Hometown Hero’s Butcher the Bakers. Our event is planned on being held at the state of the art heroic age Arts center the same weekend of their annual Art of Fear Gala kickoff. With your help we will be able to spread the word about our event and Kickstarter; going on until May 24th, to a larger audience of people so that we can provide a unique experience to our local community as well as the existing digital one.

Dead in Decatur media is a group of friends living in Decatur Illinois trying to help spread the word about independent genera films. The film festival is just one of the ways we plan on doing this, we also podcast, vlog, blog, and feature independent serialized stories. Our members are made up by a film student (Zach Tindell), A father (Evan Curry), a small business owner (Zach Applebee), a computer science student (Jason Etheredge), and a dark genius (Noah Tipton). Together we strive to support independent filmmaking and showcase all the wonderful projects that exist to our neighbors and friends.
