The Los Angeles Convention Center was filled to the rafters with merch booths, celebrity signers and the best cosplay LA has to offer last weekend for Stan Lee’s Comikaze. There were costume contests, all-star panels and some amazing exclusive memorabilia.
Stan Lee’s was of course a fixture at the convention. He signed and took pictures with fans, participated in a demonstration for his new video game and shared some of his awards and personal effects in a gallery along side some Marvel movie props and other rare items.
There was so much to see and even more to buy. The merch tables at this convention were on point. Anything you could ever want was for sale and there were plenty of great exclusives for hardcore collectors.
But without a doubt my favorite thing about this convention was seeing all of the awesome and creative cosplayers. Their enthusiasm was infectious and I really enjoyed their awesome and sometimes brilliantly obscure costumes.
It was a great Halloween experience for fans and families alike. Kids even got to trick-or-treat, with the booths passing out candy for them. Comikaze is a convention with a personal touch and it’s all the better for it. I look forward to when it rolls around again next year and I encourage anyone in or around LA to check it out for themselves.
