Jordan Peele’s horror film ‘GET OUT’ is making cinematic history. Premiering yesterday, it is scoring perfect marks from critiques too. But Peele has an additional premier coming out soon too. His first child.
You may have heard, there is a movie out. This sleeper picture-show mixing humor, horror, and racism. Ringing any bells yet? Of course, it is. It can only be that of Jordan Peele and his directorial debut of GET OUT.
Forever funny-man, Peele has always loved horror and vocal about it for several years. And his decision to kick the door down and make a horror film is only benefitting us all. But this comedy, horror aficionado is also about to add “dad” to his roster.
Jordan Peele eloped with Chelsea Peretti and their dog served as a witness. The two seem to be the ideal couple. Or have crafted a lie we all are jaded by. Never-the-less, we are sticking with seeing them as a hilarious happy couple.
Peele sat down with Brian Truitt (USA TODAY) and expressed his “concerns” about his imminent role as a soon-to-be dad and how his horror-movie fandom adds to the fear.
“Kids are creepy,” Peele says. “What happens if I wake up in the middle of the night, look over and my child is standing in the doorway? Do I run? Which direction do I run? Towards it? Away from it?”
But he’s also feeling the responsibility and unpredictability of adding “parent” to his resume. “That’s like being the captain of a pirate ship that is headed into a tempest.”
We have complete confidence in Jordans’ abilities. He will do great. And parenting may prove to be a muse in future cinematic ventures. Maybe a Stewie from Family Guy meets child labor issues meets CHILDREN OF THE CORN. Just thinking out loud.
GET OUT is in theaters now! So GET OUT and go see it!
