With Halloween wrapping up merely just days ago and the slow disappearance of horror movies that we were treated to on cable during the month of October, I can’t help but feel a little somber. However, when one rainy day passes, another one is lurking around the corner.

Horror movies, now than ever, are making a comeback. With platforms such as Youtube and Crypt TV, outlets to showcase your best horror has never been easier. With that, 2017 will surely be a big year for both up and coming directors and screenwriters as well as those already established in the industry. Here is a comprehensive (and growing) list of horror showcased to hit the airwaves next year.


The American Belko Company in South America is mysteriously sealed off at the start of work, leaving 79 people trapped in an office building, forced to kill each other or be killed.

A young woman (Matilda Lutz) becomes worried about her boyfriend (Alex Roe) when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a movie within the movie that no one has ever seen before.

When three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man (Douglas Jones), who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. After  the hit movie THE CONJURING 2 broke records at the box office it is no surprise that the main villain in the film would get her spinoff. Although an official date has not be released, James Wan and Peter Safran are reuniting to produce the spinoff. First reported by THR.

Although Blumhouse has confirmed the return of the latest installment in the popular Insidious  chapter, it has been revealed that the latest chapter in the horror franchise brings back fan favorite Lin Shaye to reprise her role as the parapsychologist Elise Rainier.
