Cloverfield Film ‘God Particle’ Moves Release Date Back
J.J. Abrams production company Bad Robot has moved the release date for it’s new film from the Cloverfield story line being called ‘God Particle’ back from Feb. 24th to April 20th, 2018. So we will have to wait a bit longer to find out what exactly this film is about. Not a lot is known about it.
We know it’s set in space and that David Oyelowo has been cast as the lead. In 2014 Christopher Nolan sent him through a wormhole to help save the future of humanity in INTERSTELLAR. Now J.J. Abrams is sending him into orbit to discover new things in the upcoming GOD PARTICLE. But he’s quick to point out that that’s where the similarities end. In speaking to The Wrap, Oyelowo said:
“The only connection I would say is both films involve space and both films involve me. That’s about as much connection I can see between the two,” said Oyelowo.
Another thing he could talk about is the scale of the new film, “Every single day we were on that set we were agog with the inventiveness and innovation, between the technology, the story and the audacity of what we were trying to accomplish. It’s an incredibly exciting and innovative piece of storytelling. It’s incredibly surprising.”
Oyelowo also commented on the importance of diversity in Hollywood, and how Abrams is contributing to that, “Myself and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are front and center of that movie. You saw J.J. do that with John Boyega and Daisy Ridley in ‘Star Wars’ – with a black actor and a young female actor. He has taken it upon himself to be the change that he now wants to see.”
The film also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl and Chris O’Dowd.
