With all the real life horror going on in the world, it’s good to have a good dose of comedy injected into your horror and sometimes the juxtaposition of said comedy can make the scares that much more effective.
The horror comedy, FEAR, INC. — which premiered in the Midnight Section at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival — was a favorite among the audience. So much so, that Electric Entertainment took notice and acquired all North American rights for the flick. It is directed by Vincent Masciale, who also directed the short film of the same title. This seems to be the strategy of most horror filmmakers these days — make the short to get the feature.
In the film, a horror nerd — played by Lucas Neff (RAISING HOPE) — and his friends enlists the help of a company who ends up bringing their worst fears to life. Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment, says of the film, “This is a fun film that horror audiences will be drawn to this Halloween Season. Vincent Masciale and Luke Barnett [writer of FEAR, INC.] have delivered an over-the-top feast for genre fans who like their scares to come with a large dose of comedy.”
