More news on the new ‘Halloween’ film from Blumhouse and John Carpenter. Word is that they have their eye on ‘Hush’ director Mike Flanagan to write and direct.

Bloody Disgusting is exclusively reporting that they have been told from various sources that Blumhouse is in talks with Mike Flanagan to write and direct.

Flanagan is the obvious (and excellent) choice, being that he just released the phenomenal slasher Hush, in which a deaf writer (Kate Siegel) must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer (John Gallagher Jr.) appears at her window. He also teamed with Blumhouse to release his indie Oculus, and also helmed Ouija 2 for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes.

We have been able to confirm that Flanagan is in talks at the moment. Watch for updates as they come in.

What do you think about Mike as the director and writer? Good fit?
