Guardians of The Galaxy Poster

James Gunn franchise juggernaut GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is merely weeks away from the premier of its secend installment, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 and Gunn took to Facebook to beat journalists to the punch on if he would be continuing with a Vol. 3.

“So, after many months of ruminations and discussions, I know the answer. I could save this answer for the first, random interviewer to ask me during the press junket but instead I thought I’d share it with the most important people in the Guardiansverse – you, the fans, who have been so incredibly supportive and enthusiastic over the past five years, it has moved me to tears on a regular basis.

So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit. And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.” ~James Gunn

The film sees the return of Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana‘s Gamora, and Dave Bautista‘s Drax; alongside Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel lending their voices to Rocket and Baby Groot. Michael Rooker‘s Yondu and Karen Gillan‘s Nebula also return, potentially as new members of the Guardians; while Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell join as Mantis and Ego the Living Planet, the latter happening to be Star-Lord’s dad. {IndieUK}

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAZY VOL. 2 has been receiving a lot of praise from critics who have screened the film.

Hitting theaters May 5th, it seems pointless to say “Go see it,” because let’s be honest, we all are!

No word on when Vol. 3 will be released but we will keep you updated!
