Suicide Squad 2 is really happening and now it looks like it may have found it’s new director in Jaume Collet-Serra. Horror fans know him from films like Orphan and The Shallows. Will Smith and Margot Robbie have both signed on for the sequel but no word on other cast members yet including Jared Leto’s return as The Joker. The original Suicide Squad grossed $745M even though many fans saw the movie as a let down. That’s a good box office take so of course they make a sequel. Let’s hope it’s better then the first film. Deadline reports that Jaume Collet-Serra is in high demand and recently became attached to Annapurna’s Waco, a drama scripted by Zero Dark Thirty’s Mark Boal and Kubo and the Two Strings’ Marc Haimes about the 1993 standoff between the FBI and Texas state law enforcement and the David Koresh-led Branch Davidians that turned the sleepy town of Elk, just outside of Waco, into a battle zone. A 51-day standoff ended with 76 people dead as the cult’s compound was engulfed by a raging fire.
