It’s hard to believe how fast this year has flown by… one might even say it’s a little bit terrifying. But on the plus side, 2019 has gifted horror fans with a bounty of new movies, from big-studio entries (US, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Crawl) to remakes, reboots and re-imaginings (Rabid, Child’s Play), franchise sequels (Three From Hell, Annabelle Comes Home), art-house chillers (Midsommar, The Lighthouse, Luz, Bliss, Depraved, The Hole in the Ground, Daniel Isn’t Real, Velvet Buzzsaw), wild indie scare-fests (Satanic Panic, Little Monsters, Haunt, Girl on the Third Floor, Ready or Not), documentaries (Horror Noire, In Search of Darkness) and of course, the latest crop of Stephen King adaptations (It: Chapter Two, Pet Sematary, Doctor Sleep, In the Tall Grass).
Instead of the usual “Top 10 Horror Movies of 2019” list that just about every horror site is going to drop on you this week or next, we thought we’d try something a bit more interactive: Fill out the form below before 12:00 am (PST) on December 30 and tell us your favorite horror feature of 2019!
It’s possible you’ve missed or overlooked some of the year’s buzz-worthy horror titles, but this poll will work double-duty as a list of recommendations going forward into 2020, when the majority of these titles will become available on major streaming platforms or networks.
Note: Due to the sheer volume of horror content this year, we’re keeping this poll focused specifically on horror feature films (theatrical, VOD, streaming or TV network) which premiered in North America between January 1, 2019 and today.
We’ll announce the final tally on December 31, to cap off one of the busiest, most controversial and record-breaking years for horror in the 21st century!
