Victor Miller talks EDEN FALLS and Other Projects

It had been a few months since I’d heard anything on the progress of Victor Miller’s retro slasher ROCK PAPER DEAD, so I decided to drop the horror legend an email. This led to a pleasant exchange where he filled me in on the status of the film, and also offered some interesting tidbits regarding projects on the not-too-distant horizon.

edenfallsMost people remember Miller as the writer of the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, but it looks like some of his best work may be yet to come. One project I’m especially intrigued about is EDEN FALLS, a film that appears to meld classic horror tropes with extreme sports.
From the official press release:

Bear Claw Films announces that it is in pre-production on a new film Eden Falls, written by Michael Coulombe, Matin Rogers, and veteran Victor Miller (writer of FRIDAY THE 13TH). Coulombe, is also slated to direct the Latino drama he wrote You Can Call Me Eve, starring Academy Award winning actress Olympia Dukakis and Eva Tamargo of Tyler Perry’s Have & Have Nots. EDEN FALLS is the story of Rob Adams, a freestyle skiing star, who corkscrews 720s into a nightmare paranoid landscape to save the only woman he’ll ever love.

When pressed for details on EDEN FALLS, Miller cautions patience: “EDEN FALLS is a thriller, with horror shot through it. It is a more expensive picture to make because it has loads of outdoor chases and downhill killers. It will take longer to find the cash.”
As for other projects occupying his time these days: “I just finished a black comedy with a pal of mine and next we’re going to work on an animated feature.” Vague but definitely intriguing!

Obviously, Miller’s going to be busy in 2016. We’ll keep you posted on ROCK PAPER DEAD and EDEN FALLS as details emerge.
