Any horror blu ray collector knows Scream Factory. They are the staple that keeps physical media alive and bring back and restores old favorites that would otherwise go neglected by the studios. And this year, they are bringing the jackpot.
Earlier last year we announced their big upcoming title, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, featuring Bill Mosley, Caroline Williams and Bill Johnson. Shout Factory’s Facebook reports,
“**Street date & new art reveal for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2**
Hot on the heels of our recent updates for Wes Craven and John Carpenter films we bring you news on another legendary horror Director: Tobe Hooper. His wild, gory and truly off-the-wall sequel THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 will be landing on a 2-Disc Blu-ray “Collector’s Edition” on April 19th. New extras are still in progress and will be announced in full at a later date.
With this official street date also comes the reveal of our newly-designed key art which was illustrated by the very talented Joel Robinson (Nightbreed, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ginger Snaps). If you order directly through at https://
www.shoutfactory.com/film/ film-horror/ the-texas-chainsaw-massacre -2-collector-s-edition you’ll also receive this on a FREE limited-edition 18” x 24” poster with purchase and while supplies last.
Purists of all things retro take note: The original theatrical key art – the classic “Breakfast Club” poster art – will be on the reverse wrap of the packaging.)”
Next up on the list is the much anticipated Wes Craven film The Serpent and the Rainbow. Alot of buzz was going around about this upcoming blu ray release just prior to the passing of the legendary director and now the details are finally in! While sadly it doesn’t look like they were able to snag a last interview with Wes this still looks like a great release!
**FINAL SPECS revealed for THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW!**
After a couple of street date delays, we can finally share with you more concrete news about our upcoming Blu-ray release of Wes Craven’s underrated and thought-provoking voodoo film. We thank you for being patient.
This of course is a bittersweet release for us due to the passing of Mr. Craven (who we still mourn). Originally, Craven was set to be involved in the project and the title was scheduled for Aug of last year. This had to be pushed back because of reasons we now all know.
We were then set for its new street date in Jan. However, when we saw the HD transfer that was provided to us, we were not satisfied and felt strongly that our release deserved better (it being our last Craven film). Therefore, we moved the date to 2/23 so that we could create an all-new HD transfer from the inter-positive film element. SERPENT has never looked better and we hope you will agree.
We also have some great extras lined-up which include:
• NEW audio commentary with actor Bill Pullman
• NEW The Making of The Serpent and the Rainbow featuring new interviews with actor Bill Pullman, author Wade Davis, director of photography John Lindley and special makeup effects artists Lance Anderson and David Anderson
• Original Theatrical Trailer and TV Spot
• Still Gallery

And now for something a little new! This newly released titled it sure to impress!
***OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT for THE BOY**
From Elijah Wood’s SpectreVision and Chiller Films comes a disturbing new film exploring the birth of evil. We are proud to announce THE BOY is coming to Blu-ray & DVD on March 1st.
Synopsis: In the summer of 1989, nine-year-old Ted Henley (Jared Breeze, Cooties) and his father John (David Morse, True Detective, World War Z) are the proprietors of the Mt. Vista Motel, a crumbling resort buried in the mountains of the American West. Since Ted’s mother left, John has drifted into despondency – leaving Ted to fend for himself. In this isolation, unchecked by the bounds of parenting, Ted’s darker impulses begin to manifest. The arrival of a mysterious drifter, William Colby (Rainn Wilson, Cooties, The Office), captivates young Ted and the two form a unique friendship – setting the stage for Ted’s final, unnerving metamorphosis.
