The fictional superhero ‘Black Lightning’ was created by writer Tony Isabella and artist Trevor Von Eeden and debuted in 1977 in ‘Black Lightning’ #1. ‘Black Lightning’ was D.C. Comics’ first African American superhero, and is still an integral part of the D.C. universe today. A pilot has been ordered by Fox, and this shocking vigilante is all set to get his first live action debut.
DC has had a lot of success with their television universe, but most of that has been associated with the shows on the CW. “Flash,” “Arrow,” “Legends Of Tomorrow,” “Constantine” and now even “Supergirl” are connected through a shared universe so “Black Lightning” being on a different network leaves a lot of questions:
Could it break the network barrier and share a universe with the other CW shows?
Will “Black Lightning” be connected to the other Fox DC show “Gotham”?
We will have to wait and see when the Black Lightning pilot strikes on Fox.
