One of the many staple con events , so many get to look forward to each year, is Walker Stalker in Atlanta, GA. This year they had unique privilege of being that of an event merely 5 days after the epic season 7 premier of THE WALKING DEAD! Having the TWD cast panel had a abundantly amazing experience for all lucky enough to attend! And what thing that was learned were the casts favorite behind-the-scenes moments!

These moments reported on by Collider. This year’s cast panels included Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and director Greg Nicotero; Scott Wilson (Hershel) and IronE Singleton (T-Dog); Christian Serratos (Rosita), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Josh McDermitt (Eugene) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham); Chandler Riggs (Carl) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) and finally Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) with surprise guest Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon).

Here are a few fun things we learned:

  • The crew is pretty used to seeing Andrew Lincoln lose his mind (while getting into character or in the emotion of a scene, that is), but they were confused when Lincoln would hug Jeffrey Dean Morgan at the end of a scene.

  • Rules established by the owners of the farm house in Season 2 included no zombies/walkers in the house and no bad language (kind of like Hershel’s rules).
  • The Blu-ray version of the show contains way more expletives than the AMC version. According to Jeffrey Dean Morgan, certain expletives change the energy.
  • The cast revealed that the actors whose characters have died still watch the show as fans, and don’t know what’s going to happen.

  • Steven Yeun taught Andrew Lincoln about Hip Hop.
  • IronE Singleton grew up 1 mile from the Bellwood Quarry featured in Season 1 and played football at the University of Georgia.
  • When Scott Wilson (Hershel) is on the cot in the prison cell in Season 3 and all of the other characters are wondering if he’s going to survive, he fell asleep and started snoring. He awoke to everyone laughing.

  • Danai Gurira (Michonne) said she had an inkling the relationship [with Andrew Lincoln’s character Rick Grimes] was coming, but it was still a little jarring to read the lines for the first time as they were written. Lincoln’s mother has been campaigning for that relationship for 3 years, so she’s delighted. Norman Reedus is of course jealous.
  • Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) said it’s pretty cool to grow up on the set of The Walking Dead. As an example, in Season 4 when the walkers are pushing down the fence, Rick gives Carl a machine gun to mow down the walkers. Since childactors in Georgia are not allowed to touch a firearm on set until they are 14 years old, the writers and crew timed it so the cast could film that scene the night Riggs turned 14.
  • Baby Judith gets recast every season and is played by twins or triplets, but Gurira revealed that Riggs is always the baby whisperer.

  • Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) says his favorite Abrahaism is “Suck my nuts,” based on the number of grandmothers who request that on autographs.   Josh McDermitt (Eugene) said he is probably the most similar to his character in real life.
