As previously reported Dimension Films is bringing The Mist’ to Spike as a TV series, but now news emerges of filming locations and set photos [below]! The Mist’ is a 2007 horror film adaption of Stephen King’s novel of the same name. The TV series is to tell the story of a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test. Answering the question: What will people do to survive when blinded by fear?
Scoop courtesy of Reddit user SussessfulSuccess, the user explains Spike was filming the series in Bedford Place Mall, Nova Scotia, which for the series was renamed “Bridegevile Mall”. The user then further explained the show was “…shooting outdoors when I was there and [while I] didn’t manage to get a photo, I did manage to get a few shots of the store inside that they will be trapped in.”
The Below features an empty mall. Not much to the naked eye unless you can image for a second, a bunch of people running through it I’m guessing in havoc.
In other news another cast member has been added to the cast and his name is Morgan Spector. Spector is set to play series protagonist “Kevin Copeland”, the character according to the press release [below] will be that of “the epitome of the modern, liberal and civilized man”:
“Kevin is the epitome of the modern, liberal and civilized man; devoted to his wife and teenaged daughter. He lives his life by high moral values and throughout his life he has refused to give into the anger and prejudice he sees in other people. However, with the arrival of the mist, his moral compass will be put to the test for his and his family’s survival.”
As previously reported, this isn’t the first time Dimension Films has taken a hit film and adapted it to a TV series. The production company is also behind the slasher remake of SCREAM on MTV. The MTV series is currently working on its ninth episode of its second season. There’s no word if the series will be renewed for a season 3. Is movie-to-TV adaptions a theme for Dimension Films? Looks like it!
Spike’s The Mist will kick off its 10 one-hour episodes 2017.
