‘Tremors’ TV Series With Kevin Bacon Headed To SyFy Network

‘Tremors’ is a movie franchise with crazy fan love. For the last year word of developing it as a TV series has been going around with Kevin Bacon attached to star and produce along with Jason Blum. Kevin Bacon was at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this weekend and spoke to ScreenDaily with some updates on the series progress.

Kevin Bacon –

“We are going to do a pilot for Syfy,” the Footloose and Diner star told Screen while at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, where he was attending a screening of Story Of A Girl, in which he co-stars.

He will reprise his role of Valentine McKee, the hapless handy-man who fights off the giant worms.

“It’s the only character I’ve ever played that I was interested in exploring 25 years later,” Bacon said. “It (Tremors) is a really good movie.

The movie and it’s sequels are so much fun to watch. The idea of Kevin coming back as a series is awesome. SyFy is a good fit as they like to have fun with the scary stuff.

Kevin Bacon –

“I don’t go back and watch my movies but because we were doing this one, I had to go back and look at it. It’s just the idea of this loser who is living a very ordinary life and has an extraordinary experience with these monsters and becomes, for a moment, a hero.”

I can’t wait for this to become a series. Beware the Sand Worms!

  1. Didn’t the 2003 series suck bad enough? Worse they used that POS to murder Farscape. There’s a reason I don’t watch that idiotic network anymore – WWE is NOT Science Fiction!!!
